Surveying Evidence

Friday, June 27, 2025 (12:00 PM - 2:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

This webinar will be recorded and available to watch later.

Surveying is both an art and a science. If we view the evidence and its gathering as the “science” and the analysis of that evidence, as the “art,” it provides a convenient framework for identifying what all should be included in the body of evidence a surveyor seeks to gather. Since we hang our professional decisions (opinions) on our evidence it is critical that we understand what it is, what it is not. This understanding is essential as we provide our work products to our clients and to the public. Various classes of evidence will be discussed along with the concepts of facts, opinions, standards of care, due diligence, standards of proof and uncertainty.

Who Should Attend:

This seminar is intended for practicing land surveyors or land surveying technicians who are routinely involved in the search for and analysis of evidence as part of their daily responsibilities.

Most recently, Mr. Vannozzi joined the faculty of the Surveying Engineering Technology program at The University of Maine in the Fall of 2019 where he teaches courses across the curriculum both in the traditional classroom and on-line.
