The NSPS Certified Survey Technician (CST) program is a comprehensive national certification program for survey technicians in both the field and the office intended to gauge technical capabilities and general knowledge of workplace safety and procedures.
Some of the goals of the program are:
During this first in a series of webinars, the speaker will provide an overview of the Level 1 CST Exam Work Elements for Office and Field Technicians. He will review typical problems and work through solutions. Examples of the work elements for a Level 1 CST Exam are;
Speaker: A. Richard Vannozzi, MS, PLS, Associate Professor, Surveying Engineering Technology, University of Maine
Mr. Vannozzi is a graduate of the University of Maine where, in 1984, he earned a BS in Forestry and, in 2006, earned an MS in Forestry, both with a surveying emphasis. Mr. Vannozzi has taught surveying across New England since 2003. Currently, Mr. Vannozzi serves on the faculty of the Surveying Engineering Technology program at The University of Maine where he teaches courses across the curriculum both in the traditional classroom and online. He is registered as a Professional Land Surveyor in Massachusetts having first been licensed there in 1988 at the age of 25. He is a Past-President of MALSCE and, in 1998, was recognized as MALSCE’s Surveyor of the Year. He is currently a co-chair of the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) Education Committee. He also served on the NSPS Board of Directors (FKA Board of Governors) representing Massachusetts from 2008-2019. In 2017 he was named a fellow of NSPS. He is currently a candidate for Vice-President of NSPS for 2026-27.

Registration Fees: $55/person, $110/up to three people, $165/up to five people for MALSCE members* and $85/person, $170/up to three people, $255/up to five people for non-members. For group registrations the applicable registration fee will be determined by the membership status of the majority of registrants. Please note that a recording of this webinar will be made available for viewing for a 60-day period.
