Submit Your Nomination for the 2025 Surveyor of the Year! The MALSCE Awards Committee invites MALSCE members to furnish the name of any fellow member they feel the committee should consider as a recipient of the 2025 MALSCE Surveyor of the Year Award. This annual award recognizes a professional land surveyor who has provided outstanding leadership for the profession. A list of past award recipients is posted on the MALSCE website. The 2025 MALSCE Surveyor of the Year Award will be presented during the 2026 MALSCE Convention, which is being held on March 6 and 7, 2026. Franklin Cummings Tech Offering Two Courses for Surveying in Spring 2026 Franklin Cummings Tech will be offering two online courses beginning in January designed for professionals currently working in the land surveying field who wish to become registered Professional Land Surveyors in Massachusetts. Massachusetts Statutes and Regulations This course involves the study of those regulations directly affecting the practice of land surveying in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts such as the Registration Law (MGL Chap. 112, Secs. 81D-81T), the regulations of the Board of Registration of Professional Engineers and of Land Surveyors (250 CMR), the Subdivision Control Law (MGL Chap. 41), the Zoning Act (MGL Chap 40A) and the Massachusetts Land Court Manual of Instructions. Applications of Advanced Survey Technology This course introduces the student to the various technologies currently used in land surveying and data acquisition applications. Theory and application are taught in the use of Total Stations, Photogrammetry, Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) as well as recent applications of Drone Survey technology and Laser Scanning. Emphasis is on understanding how the technology works and its application to various tasks within the land surveying profession. Click here to learn more. |
